During our measurement unit we studied weight and different ways to determine how heavy an object was. One measurement tool we studied was a balance scale. We learned that when two items are placed on the scale, the heavier item causes the arm of the scale to go down. The end with the lighter item moves up. We learned this during our workshop work time when we acted as the balance scale.
